Safe and Sound!

So I arrived last night at about 9:30pm local time I am 9 hours aheadof Vancouver. It must have been the longest trip of my life and thesecond flight of 11.5 hours was quite miserable as I did not sleep muchand there was so little leg room and the food sucked!

As I got off the plane I thought "what the heck am I doing here...ohman I want my old life back what have I done???"...I quickly expressedthis to one of the three other YWAM girls who  were on my flight andthey all said they were experiencing the same thoughts/mixed emotions.

We drove about 20 min in the dark in this beat up bus/van that had noheadlights to the base here in Muizenberg. the hosts who picked us upwere super cool and played us African electronic guitar music while wedrove along the coast only to see a faint row of white cresting wavesjust 30 feet from the road we drove on.

The accommodations are classic dorm room stuff and as I went to sleep Ithought "what have i done? I am 29 years old and I am dorming it like Idid when I was 22 traveling around Europe"

I woke up around 6am and had all those same crazy thoughts as I laid inthe dark in a room with 3 other strangers...but as the light started tocome thought the window I was reminded of what the heck I really amdoing here and the adventures I am about to have and the lessons I willlearn and I was so excited I got up and have headed down for a 7ambreakfast and to update you all that I have survived the first leg ofthe trip and am soooooo sure there is going to be many adjustments inthe coming weeks.

Please send your prayers and warm thoughts to encourage me as I may need them more that I know!

I found peace reading this versu in another email today...be blessed today! I love you all!

"ForI know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosperyou and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah29:11.

    Hi Honey,
So now the REAL adventure begins. It was so nice to wake up to your message. I can't imagine flying for as long as you did, I hope the sites and sounds of the trip were enjoyable.
I missed connecting with you at Sea
Tac but I knew I would hear from you soon. I have a thousand questions but I will wait asking them as I am sure they will be answered in future messages as you get settled in. I have set my weather channel up to Muizenburg so at least I will know what the weather is doing on a hour by hour basis.
I am so proud of you and I know this is the right thing for you to be doing and yes my prayers are always with you. I have your address and will communicate at times the old fashion way by Pony Express.
Love you, Keep safe, and ENJOY
    Dad

Dearest Justine, Am so glad you arrived safely and that you awoke with excitement. This last Sunday our new seniour Pastor spoke on the Holy Spirit. He is doing a series on "who is Jesus" as a prelude to working on our mission statement. I am so excited!!!!
He explained in part how the Holy Spirit works. It is not a one time happening, but to be immersed- overwhelmed--dunked in and with the Triune God. EFFUSION-freeflow-God the Spirit passing through us-filling us with the Glory of God!!!! Whenever we need HIM, whenever we need teaching,to help us understand,to feel Him in our time of need.May you feel His effusion- His freeflowing gift in you as learn to serve Him- may this amazing GOD be your everthing as you learn to trust Him in all things. Love Klara

Justine - you are in my thoughts and prayers and I do think of you every day... mostly because the card I wrote to you is still on my kitchen counter, but also because I just love you to bits and I'm so proud of you for taking this risk and following your heart. Whenever you feel scared, just breathe... and think about the dog parade at Baby Eats. That just might make you laugh... xo

    Justine,
So glad you are finally really there and all the trepidation is vaporizing in the moment by moment experiences. You are truly free to serve the Lord and that is such a privilege. "many are called but few are chose" You are one of those special people who God is going to use in mysterious and wonderful ways. Bless you for your courage and faith. Father God we pray you bless Justine and keep her safe every day.
    Love Janice xoxoxo

So the big adventure has begun!

When tempted momentarily by doubts, call to mind this verse:

    Romans 8:28

"We know God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

BTW Thanks for the card. Much appreciated.

My prayers will be with you throughout this adventure.

Blessings from a fellow El Shaddai Women's Bible Study Group member - Janice L.
